Young people are pioneering the use of information-communication-technology (ICT), and driving trends in what is a dynamic and major growth industry. The good news is they are using ICT; the challenge is to inspire them to use it in constructive and empowering ways. To bring together young people who are leading this process, to inspire and challenge one another, and mobilize others to do the same, BYND2015 Global Youth Summit is being organized by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) from 9-11 September 2013 in San Jose, Costa Rica. This Summit will assemble young leaders onsite and online from all corners of the globe with a view to highlighting their priorities and capturing their combined voice in crucial national and international policy/decision making processes.
World leaders are currently setting development goals and priorities that will drive policy making for the next generation. Beyond 2015 refers broadly to the UN and civil society mechanisms that will establish sustainable development frameworks for a post MDG world. The deadline is 2015. The BYND summit will target this process in highlighting the power of ICTs for development.
In this regard BYND2015 Nepal Hub in collaboration with Story Cycle, is organizing a story telling program on “How ICT can change our lives?”.
